At Floridatown Baptist Church, Sonshiners is a joyful Connect Group created especially for our seasoned saints — mature adults who want to keep shining brightly for Christ in this golden season of life.
The name “Sonshiners” reminds us that no matter our age, we are called to reflect the light of the Son (Jesus) in everything we do. This group is a place where older adults can gather for meaningful fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual growth in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Growing Girls in God

At Floridatown Baptist Church, Golden Girls in God is a special Connect Group created for women who desire deeper fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual growth in a warm, Christ-centered environment.
This group is designed for ladies who are seasoned in life and faith—women who want to connect with others who understand the joys, challenges, and blessings of this beautiful stage of life. Whether you’re retired, still working, or enjoying this next chapter, Golden Girls in God offers a place where you can be known, loved, and uplifted.

Most Excellent Way

The Most Excellent Way is a Christ-centered recovery and support ministry focused on helping people find victory over addictions and life-controlling issues through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
It draws its name directly from 1 Corinthians 12:31 (“And yet I will show you the most excellent way”), which introduces 1 Corinthians 13 — the famous “love chapter.” The ministry teaches that the most excellent way to overcome addiction is not self-reliance or secular programs, but becoming God-dependent through the transforming power of Christ’s love, the Cross, and the Holy Spirit.
Founded in 1986 by Glen and Judy Wright as a small prayer group with a heart to reach people struggling with all kinds of addiction (drugs, alcohol, pornography, gambling, etc.).

Sunday School Groups

Bible Study

At Floridatown Baptist Church, our Verse by Verse Bible Study Connect Group is for those who desire to go deeper into God’s Word — one verse at a time — in a warm, fellowship-centered environment.
In this group we take a slow, careful journey through books of the Bible, studying each verse in its context. We observe what the text actually says, seek to understand what it meant to the original audience, and prayerfully apply its timeless truths to our daily lives. This inductive approach helps us discover the riches of Scripture for ourselves rather than relying solely on someone else’s summary.

Men’s Fellowship Breakfast

Men’s Fellowship Breakfast is a relaxed, encouraging time designed specifically for the men of our church family and guests.
Every 2nd Saturday of each month, men gather over a good breakfast to build authentic friendships, share life, and grow together in their walk with Christ. It’s a place where guys can be real — no masks, no pressure — just brothers in Christ encouraging one another to live faithfully for the Lord
